Excursion and lunch in Vilakazi Street, Soweto

Vilakazi Street is the most famous street in Soweto and it is the only street in the world to have had two Nobel Peace Prize recipients as its residents and neighbours. The late former, first democratically elected president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela and Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu lived in Vilakazi Street. Nelson Mandela’s house has become a museum and the Tutu’s house is still used as a normal home by the Tutu family.
